The time has come to officially close this project, but not without one final update! The print copy of “Peck ,Peck, PECK! Austin’s Story” is now available in hardcover and softcover via the memorable url peckpeckpeck.com. Ready yourself... now marvel at the sheer beauty of it!
Finally, the print copy has arrived! |
Bask in its grandeur! |
Laura and I couldn't be happier with how this turned out, the colors came out almost spot on, the glossy paper looks great, and overall the finish of the book is very professional. Almost like a real kids book! My apologies for the book prices:
Is that thing bound in gold?? |
Those prices aren't marked up at all, in fact the cost is just Blurb.com's printing price. I could have knocked about $10 of the prices if I conceded to having the Blurb.com logo defile the book, but funk that noise!
Along with the book, I also decided to get a small 3d printed version of my baby austin ZBrush model. I opted for Sculpteo because their plastic came in gray and they had a faster turn around time than Shapeways. Both those links go to the Austin models on their respective sites in case anyone gets a wild urge to order their own…which you likely will after seeing these pictures of the print!

Bird in hand? |
And so concludes the tale of "Peck, Peck, PECK! Austin's Story" and its development by Soule Designs. It's been a long time coming (a little over a year) but well worth the effort.
Oh, and I may eventually paint the little Austin model, if so I'll be sure to blog about it.... so maybe this isn't the finale after all? In other words... The End?
